East Sparta homecoming

A parade, car show, fireworks and good times are on tap for the 71st annual East Sparta Homecoming on July 1-3.
The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. July 1 with a car, truck and motorcycle show. LaFlavour will play at 8 p.m. July 2 prior to the fireworks show at 10 p.m. Fireworks will be shot off from the former East Sparta Elementary School site. The parade steps off at 7 p.m. July 3.
Amusement rides will be open each night, as will games, food vendors and activities. The Fire Department will host 10-cent bingo July 2 and July 3.
The events will take place at the East Sparta Homecoming Grounds at Corner of Chestnut Avenue and Pine Street SE.
Presale ride tickets are available at McDade’s Market and Dave’s Barbershop for $8 each. The tickets can be exchanged for a wristband any night and allows the person to ride unlimited rides for one night.
