Fly tying Get-Together

Ohio Fly Fishing Excursions and the Stark County Park District are offering Fly Tying Get-Togethers at the Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake Park, 5712 12th St NW. Information is available by calling the instructor, John Rochus, at 330-456-8731. Cost is $1 per person to cover supplies. This month's program will feature Chad Spurgeon on Fly fishing in Kamchatka, Russia.

Rochus is a retired teacher with 20 years of fly fishing experience. He has organized trips to Pennsylvania and Montana, and has a master’s degree in aquatic biology from the University of Akron. “Watching a trout drift back, tilt up, and sip in a dry fly is one of the most visually exciting moments for a fly fisherman,” said Rochus, “especially if it is one created at your own vise.”
