Fundraiser for HOPE Academy first-grader Earl Thurmond

The Parent-Teacher Organization at HOPE Academy is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. March 23 to benefit first-grader Earl Thurmond, who was recently diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin’s lymphoma and must undergo three months of chemotherapy and possibly radiation treatment. Proceeds will help Earl’s family pay his medical bills.
Cost is $5 for everyone 12 and older and $2.50 for children under 12. Donations also will be accepted.
HOPE Academy is at 1379 Garfield Ave. SW in Canton
Several businesses in Canton donated items for the dinner including food, beverages and silverware.
