MassMu: Nell Toll Exhibition Openings

Two exhibitions of artwork by Nelly Toll open at the Massillon Museum with a reception for the artist from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. In Studio M, prints of childhood watercolors of Holocaust survivor Nelly Toll will depict the life of her dreams while she was in hiding in Poland from the Nazis. The artist's recent works will be exhibited in the Museum's second-floor gallery. The opening is free and open to everyone. No reservations are necessary. The exhibitions continue through April 4. The Massillon Museum is located at 121 Lincoln Way East in the heart of downtown Massillon. For details, call 330-833-4061 or visit massillonmuseum.org.

The Nelly Toll exhibitions are part of The Big Read, a National Endowment for the Arts funded month-long project to help Americans return to leisure reading. This year's book selection, "The Shawl" by Cynthia Ozick, sets a Holocaust remembrance theme. In addition to be an acclaimed artist, Toll has written her own highly-regarded Holocaust-based book, "Behind the Secret Window."
