Sandy Valley concert

The Sandy Valley Music Department will present its winter band and choir concert at 2 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Sandy Valley High School auditorium.

The concert will feature the Cardinal Symphonic Band, under the direction of Jeffrey S. Huston, and the Cardinal Concert Choir, under the direction of Barry Busse.

The theme is the music of Italy, and highlights include Rossini’s “William Tell Overture,” Puccini’s “O Mio Babbino Caro,” Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” and “Gloria,” as well as a combined band and choir medley of Neapolitan street songs.

Flutist and Sandy Valley graduate Dianne Williams will join the band as the guest soloist. An Italian-inspired art display by the Sandy Valley Art Department will complete the event.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
