Sunny’s Back to School Dayz Celebration

Celebrate “back to school” with Sunny, the eager shaggy dog who thinks school is fun from 4 to 7 p.m. July 21 at the Turnaround Community Outreach Center.
The event will include Head Start registration, free books, face painting, free school clothing and supplies, and free food and music.
The benefits of reading and the importance of going to school will be stressed at the event. The Canton Police Department will present a safe kids program and will bring its canines. A representative from the Mayor’s Literacy Program will talk to parents about mentoring reading with their children, and all children will be given a book.
The city Health Department will give out vouchers for free immunizations.
LongHorn Steakhouse will cook hot dogs and hamburgers.
The event is for children who are preschool age through age 13 only, and they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Giveaways will be available while supplies last.
Turnaround Community Outreach is at 321 Cherry Ave. NE in Canton.
