Tennis Fundraiser Featuring Querrey and Fish

Sam Querrey, who is the 2009 U.S. Open Series winner and currently the second ranked U.S. player, and Denis Kudla, the #1 U.S. Junior, along with veteran Mardy Fish, currently ranked 4th in the U.S. are coming to Akron, Ohio. On February 5th & 6th, these tennis professionals and Coach David Nainkin and Jim Thomas will participate in the Swinging for Victory Grand Slam Event to benefit Victory Gallop. A non-profit organization, Victory Gallop is a therapeutic riding program for children with emotional and/or behavioral challenges and life-threatening illnesses.

These world ranked tennis professionals, Fish (46), Querrey (24), Kudla (3 Jr) and Thomas, will take Center Court for this Grand Slam Event in exhibition matches on Friday, February 5th at 7:00p.m and Saturday, February 6th at 2:00p.m. Local area pros will also participate in the tennis weekend hosted by Springside Racquet & Fitness Club and sponsored by The Harrington/McLaughlin Family Foundation, University Hospitals, Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and The Jordan Company.

The Grand Slam Event will begin with Pro-Am sessions on Friday, February 5th. A Singles Exhibition featuring Sam Querrey vs Denis Kudla, along with a coaching and drill demonstration by Coach David Nainkin and Mardy Fish, is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Friday followed by a Meet ‘N Greet, silent auction and program. The auction includes some prized tennis memorabilia donated by the players. Saturday events include junior and adult clinics and a 2:00 pm Doubles exhibition match with Fish/Thomas vs. Querrey/Kudla. Coach David Nainkin, Mardy and Sam’s coach, will direct the clinics with Fish, Querrey, Thomas, Kudla and local pros.
