Traditional Irish Music with the David Munnelly Band
On March 19, the traditional Irish group, The David Munnelly Band, will add a day to the local St. Patrick’s Day festivities when it performs at Happy Days Lodge as part of the Cuyahoga Valley Heritage Concert series.
General seating admission is $15 for adults, $10 for CVNPA members, and $5 for children ages 3 to 12. Advance sales are available until 3 p.m. March 19 by calling (330) 657-2909 or stopping at Park Place in Peninsula.
No cash refunds will be given, but tickets may be exchanged up to 10 days before the concert.
You can create your own subscription series — three Cuyahoga Valley Heritage Series concerts for one low price. Series prices are $40 adults, $25 CVNPA members, and $15 children ages 3 to 12.
Concerts are held at Happy Days Lodge and begin at 8 p.m. unless otherwise stated. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Started by Irish button accordion player David Munnelly, who's toured and recorded with The Chieftains and with DeDanann, The David Munnelly Band is one of the hottest bands on the traditional Celtic music scene. The quintet combines button accordion, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo, piano, bodhrán, and flute for a high-spirited instrumental sound colored with a bit of jazz and ragtime, and the extraordinary singing of All-Ireland champion Shauna Mullin.
The David Munnelly Band has won special acclaim for incorporating the sound of the 1920s and 1930s and bands from that era, such as the Flanagan Brothers, with its traditional roots. The band was also awarded "Concert of the Year" honors for both 2006 and 2007 by LiveIreland.com.
The Cuyahoga Valley Heritage Series, presented by the National Park Service and Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association (CVNPA), celebrates the cultural legacy of the Cuyahoga Valley.
