Women’s heart health fundraiser at KSU basketball game
The Kent State women’s basketball game Feb. 3 will raise money for women’s heart health education. The game against Toledo will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 with pre-game heart-health activities beginning at 6 p.m.
The game will feature a raffle for a heart-healthy basket and heart healthy
in-game activities and prizes.
The spectator in the best red outfit also will win overnight accommodations for two at the Bertram Inn in Aurora and a three-course dinner for two in the Leopard Restaurant, awarded the AAA Four Diamond Award.
Representatives from Robinson Memorial Hospital, Kent State and the American Heart Association will be providing blood pressure screenings, nutrition information, diabetes education, BMI calculations and education.
Tickets are $5 for lower-level MACC seating and can be purchased through
the Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Proceeds, which will be directed to the Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation, will support a women’s heart health educational event at Kent State later this spring. The event will
help raise awareness about heart disease among women to faculty, staff and students.
Over the past seven years, the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute’s “Heart Truth” campaign and the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” have advocated that heart disease is not just a man’s problem. The Robinson Memorial Hospital Health Education Center also has been a champion in delivering this important message to community members and to health care professionals.
To purchase tickets or for more information, contact Deborah Solan, executive director, Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation at (330) 297-8801 or dsolan@rmh2.org.
The event is open to men, women and children.
Only tickets purchased through the Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation will benefit the women’s heart health education spring program.
