Affinity Medical Center's Heart Care Fair
To mark Heart Awareness Month, Affinity Medical Center will host a Heart Care Fair, a free community event to help educate the public on living a heart-healthy lifestyle, from 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 23.
The event will be in the Eighth Street lobby and surrounding conference rooms at Affinity Medical Center at 875 Eighth St. NE in Massillon.
Activities will include heart-healthy education and relaxation, including chair massages, free blood pressure checks, heart health risk assessments, informational and interactive displays and heart-healthy refreshments. WHBC will provide a live broadcast from the event.
Three health care experts will provide educational presentations about your heart and your health. At 3:30 p.m. Jackie Brown, RN, BSN,CVSICU manager, and Stephanie DeVault, RN, BSN, RT(R)(CI), cardiac catheter lab coordinator, will present “Emergency Heart Care.” Following their presentation will be Dr. Mark Tawil, medical director of vascular services, at 4:30 p.m. with “Vascular Health & Non- Invasive Endovascular Repair of Aneurysms.” The final presentation, “Cholesterol and Cholesterol Medications,” will take place at 5:30 p.m. by cardiologist George Seese, D.O.
